The Wee Scottish Wizz (Fully Booked)
September 3, 2022 - September 10, 2022
Leaving Sussex on Sept 3rd and returning on Sept 10th.
8 days and 7 nights in total including 2 days each way to get to and from the Highlands. The journey up will be the responsibility of the individual and the meeting point will be in the delightful town of Beauly, just to the north west of Inverness. We have arranged a dinner, bed and breakfast deal with a guest house and you should aim to arrive in time for a 1930 dinner on the evening of the 4th September. The following 4 days will include the mind boggling views and roads of the Scottish Highlands and will include, among other stops, John O’Groats, Ullapool, the infamous Applecross Pass and the Isle of Skye. Each day will focus on the delights of riding on the most jaw dropping roads and will all be between 250 and 300 miles. This will mean early departures and arrival back at the hotel in time for dinner. It is not a trip for the faint hearted but is worth every turn of the wheel. We then aim to depart south on the morning of the 9th via the Cairngorms to stop overnight at a yet to be decided accommodation near Carlisle. The following day is left to you to get back home by whatever route you decide. Likely round trip mileage from Sussex is 2,800 miles over the 8 days and tyre wear on the abrasive Scottish roads is high so please bear that in mind with regard to preparation. It can also be wet at times, as well as chilly, but the views and the roads, along with the sparkling company make this a must do trip. Estimated costs are: Accommodation – £475 at Beauly (including breakfast and dinner) for 5 nights Accommodation on journey up and back – your responsibility but we will recommend an overnight stop for all on 9th. Fuel – £350-£400 at todays prices. Lunches – according to individual but allow £10 a day for coffees and a bite to eat (we are working on organised café stops). Beer money. Realistically allowing around £1200 will not give any nasty surprises. This trip is limited to a maximum of ten (10) people including the organiserImportant: Whilst the Wizz is open to all…the one condition required to attend a club Wizz (long-distance tours including overnight stays etc) is that if you are a trainee and or do not hold a current Advanced test you will need to have completed a minimum of four (4) training sessions and be recommended/supported by an Instructor to join the Wizz.
